Detroit Brooks and Friends playing at the Dew Drop Jazz & Social Hall. These guys could really play some music! There was a point during a rest in the music when everything went silent. No one spoke, the hush demonstrating the audience’s captivity to the music.
The canvas for this painting is hand stretched linen on kiln dried wooden stretcher bars. The linen was sealed with two coats of PVA and then two coats of oil primer. The artist took the reference photo was taken at the concert in early 2026 during an exceptionally grest performance. This painting took approximately 60 hours to paint is finished with a satin varnish.
